While democracy was dying to thunderous applause in Ohio this weekend, my young-at-heart-ling and I ventured to Tysons Corner in Virginia, where a LEGO master was constructing an 8-foot replica of R2-D2.
Did the Empire strike back?
No, builders consulted a scale model in constructing the 8-foot version.
Scores of padawans, ages 4 and above, helped by assembling the small clusters of bricks that comprised the robot.
But with time running out, perhaps LEGO Jedi masters were the robot’s only hope.
