Roasted Cauliflower with Za’atar

I’ve been obsessed with za’atar since the fabulously fresh stuff I found at the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv.  I love the sweet earthiness of the blend.  And I’ve been obsessed with cauliflower and za’atar together ever since the amazing dish my friend and I enjoyed at Newport‘s La Vasca.  So I put together this healthy, low-carb, vegetarian, Mediterranean-inspired recipe.  I hope you like it too.

  1. I’m curious about za’atar now! Cauliflower is one of the few vegetables that everyone in my house enjoys, so I would love to try something new with it! I saw that you posted a link to how to make za’atar; time to check it out!

  2. My 4 kids and I are obsessed with cauliflower and this recipe looks delish! I haven’t been cooking with za’atar but I have been wanting to try. I don’t think I can go wrong with cauliflower so I think it might be a hit for a first try of za’atar. Thanks for sharing this simple yet gorgeous recipe!

  3. Hi! I am so glad you wrote about this spice blend! My Dad just passed away in March, but he loved this spice blend! It makes me think of him and reminds me that I can still celebrate his memory apart from being together! I love Israel, I pray I could visit some day!

    1. Hi, Erika, I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad nearly 10 years ago. He loved pizza, and on the night before we left the house for the last time, my brother and I ordered pizza in his memory. Funny how the little things like that are so real.

Israel is such a unique place. I’m so grateful to have been able to visit, and I hope you have the opportunity to do so soon. https://sancerresatsunset.com/2016/03/01/israel-a-foodies-promised-land/
