10 Most Fun States in America
The personal-finance site WalletHub recently ranked all 50 states by 26 fun factors, ranging from casinos per capita to time of last call.
And the winner, once again, is California, which ranked first in theaters, restaurants, and fitness centers per capita. But the Golden State’s mild weather is its strongest point. The temperature is warm; the humidity is low, and rain is rare. It’s almost always pleasant to be outdoors in California. And there’s something for everyone to enjoy — beaches, parks, wineries, ballgames. When I lived in Newport Beach, I loved simply dining outdoors, with the sound of the waves rolling in a few feet away.

But Louisiana rose to 10th place. The sultry Pelican State is another one of my favorites, where the food is fabulous, the culture is unique, and the people are warm and friendly, from Shreveport in the northwest to New Orleans in the southeast.
