As you’re reading this, I’m not sure where I am, but it’s probably somewhere west-by-northwest of Virginia. I’m taking a road trip across America! My last cross-country road trip was more than 20 years ago, with my mother. I’ve always wanted to do it again. And now, for pretty much the first time since then, it’s a good season in my life for it. So I’ve loaded up Mercy B, my silver sedan, with clothes, low-carb snacks, cameras, and books, and I’m off! I have a loose itinerary, but the glory of the solo road trip is to blow with the wind, so who knows where I’ll end up? I do want to check out the five states in the contiguous 48 I’ve not visited yet: North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon. Conveniently they’re all connected! And I’m excited to start out in a northerly direction, because I’m optimistic that the tulips will be unfolding along with my trip. And I do want to stay connected with you all. Lord willing, I’ll be posting here on the blog about once a week, daily on Instagram, randomly throughout the day on twitter, and monthly in my newsletter. I hope you’ll keep me company along the adventure!

I believe that passions are more fun when you share them with others, and my hope is to share my passions for travel and culture with you. Welcome! Read more …
