What If Obama Held a Rally and Nobody Came?

Barack Obama’s efforts to reach out to the small-town Americans he offends don’t seem to be going so well. Yesterday, the Chicago snob spoke at a rally in Bristow, Virginia, or, as Andrea Mitchell called it, “real redneck, sort of, bordering on Appalachia country“. Prince William County Democratic Committee Chairman Pete Frisbie had predicted that 25,000 -50,000 people would show up. But today’s Washington Post reports that more than 10,000 attended, which, as Virginia Virtucon points out, probably means 7,500-8000. I hope I don’t receive 20 requests to join “Rednecks for McCain” today.

  1. After 4 years of New England boarding school (class ’82), but being from Alabama, I never cease to be amazed at how clueless the intelligencia can be. Or as that famiuse quote in “Dangerous Liassons” goes, “Like most highly intelligent people, he is an idiot.”

As a McCain campaign volunteer, I whole-heartedly support the Obama camp’s snobbery, their, “Let them eat cake!” view of the common folk. Elites rock!
