Rambling Rosie Leaving The View

The View is about to improve.

After one season, embarassment to the airwaves Rosie O’Donnell is leaving.

Delivering one of her trademarked ramblings, Ms. O’Donnell claimed that she and ABC couldn’t agree on contract terms, as she wanted to commit for only one year while ABC wanted her for three. “They’re not kicking me out,” she insisted.

Whether ABC is really that stupid or Ms. O’Donnell is just making better use of an opportunity to save face than her predecessor Starr Jones Reynolds, I don’t know.

But it’s good news.

Ms. O’Donnell’s ravings, from her nasty name-calling to her absurd claims–like that September 11, 2001, was the first date on which fire melted steel–are a detriment to reasoned discourse and civil society.

Rosie O’Donnell is like a weed in the garden of discourse. It’s good to see her uprooted.
