Tax Cut Savings

Three tax reform bills are included on the National Taxpayers Union‘s list of money-saving bills in the current Congress, along with the amount of money, in millions, that each would save the taxpayers.

The Fair Tax Act of 2005 (H.R. 25 and S. 25) would save the tax-payers $11,312,000,000 alone if enacted.

There are two also Senate bills that are very similar to each other:
the Flat Tax Act of 2005 (S. 812) and the Tax Simplication Act of 2005 (S. 1099). Enacting either one would save the taxpayers $47,397,000,000, according to NTU’s analysis.

  1. Leslie,
My mistake – I misread the list. I wrongly assumed that your $47B+ figure was the total of all items on that list. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
