HI Drops Child Health Care Program

Hawai’i is eliminating the nation’s only universal child health care program after seven months.

The program imposed an unaffordable burden on the state budget after families dropped private coverage in order to bilk the tax-payers.

“People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free,” said Dr. Kenny Fink, of the Department of Human Services.
