Yesterday, General Clark, who has been mentioned as a possible running mate for Barack Obama, trash-talked John McCain’s experience on Face the Nation. Calling the former POW “untested and untried”, Gen. Clark insisted that Sen. McCain had held no “executive responsibility”.
“He hasn’t been there and ordered the bombs to fall. He hasn’t seen what it’s like when diplomats come in and say, I don’t know whether we’re going to be able to get this point through or not,” Gen. Clark said.
There are lots of reasons to oppose John McCain, starting with his attack on the First Amendment.
But for a supporter of the achievement-wanting, judgment-impaired, gaffe-prone rookie Senator from Illinois to attack Sen. McCain on the basis of experience is laughable.
It’s time for Sen. Obama to throw Gen. Clark under the bus with all his other embarrassing “friends”.
