The Jesus glasses leapt from my garlic nose when I read some of the in-class statements of left-wing bigot du jour James Corbett, an AP history teacher and faculty advisor to the Free Thinking Atheist and Agnostic Kinship student club at Capistrano Valley High School in California.
According to court documents, Dr. Corbett has frequently uttered biased statements in the classroom like:
“When you put on your Jesus glasses, you can’t see the truth.”
“When you pray for divine intervention, you’re hoping that the spaghetti monster will help you get what you want.” (What do these bigots have against Italian cuisine?)
Dr. Corbett’s lawyer insists that the comments have been taken out of context and that his client is “trying to stimulate his students”.
Come on. The way to stimulate students’ minds is with great ideas, not petty insults.
