In Plane Sight

According to the Associated Press, the House Judiciary Committee next week plans to release a report titled, “Plane Clothes: Lack of Anonymity at the Federal Air Marshal Service Compromises Aviation and National Security”. Duh. I travel to/from Reagan-National Airport several times a month. FAMs are easier to find than luggage bin space: They’re two men, c. 30-50yo, dressed like business travellers, sitting on aisle seats in first class. And they get on the plane first–ahead of the first-class passengers and sometimes the flight crew. They may as well have “Terrorists, kill me first and grab my gun!” tatooed to their foreheads.
